I’m writing a letter in support of “Homes Coalition of San Juan County.” In the short 45 years I’ve lived in the islands the changes are overwhelming – with property values many-fold of what they were back then and they aren’t making any more land here!

Young people; trades people; cashiers; carpenters; hospital workers; teachers; they are having a hard time finding affordable housing, much less owning their own home. Our community needs these people! Voting to pass the ½ percent tax on land purchases will help secure a future for these people. I am voting YES because we need affordable housing.
