The art of 21 local artists will be dancing in the wind in front of Orcas Center for the next few months in the “ORCAS STRONG” banner exhibit starting Aug. 8.

Each artist was provided a 3’x 5’ nylon banner and asked to create an artistic expression of inspiration and hope during this crazy time in our lives. The collective goal was to provide an exciting visual experience and to raise the spirits of our Orcas neighbors by sending good wishes on colorful cloth.

The artists include Marcia Spees, Maggie Kaplin, Kathy Youngren (her work is pictured here), Mary Jane Elgin, Joan Fletcher, Susan Singleton, Nina and Rick Sahlin-Jones, Josie Barrows, David Densmore and Susan Osborn, Sadie Bailey, Joan Fletcher, John Barry, Sharon Ho, Christa Smith, Rosemary Altberg, Catiya Gainor, Cindy Morgan, B.J. Arnold, Zoe Blevins, and Sam Vaccarella.

The exhibit begins Aug. 8 and will hang until Orcas Center is able to open again.
