Derk Jager was known to many photographers on the island through his participation in the Orcas Camera Club, photographing performances at the Orcas Center and working with other artists here and in Seattle.

His work will be display at the library for the month of April.

Sadly, Derk passed away in May 2024. Two of Derk’s friends and fellow photographers, Dave Kosiur and Peter Olesen, have worked with Derk’s wife, Alison Shaw, to select a portfolio of prints that typify his work over the years.

In addition, a timeline of Derk’s commercial work spanning over 30 years is available for viewing in the library’s main meeting room.
