Author Jack Nisbet will be at the library Oct. 4 at 6 p.m. with his new book, “The Dreamer and the Doctor,” chronicling the remarkable adventures of John Leiberg as he performed landmark plant and Forest Reserve surveys across the entire region, and his wife Carrie Leiberg, the only female railroad surgeon in the known world. Explore how the Leibergs fit into the greater Northwest story, and how their efforts resonate with issues that still confound today – from wildfire to women’s rights, from public health to the fate of our dynamic landscape. Nisbet will be available after the program for book signing.
