On the day of the bake sale on Jan. 21, I was so excited, but nervous. My class helped me so much. Over 75 percent of my class made something or helped in some way. I was surprised how much money we raised: more than $600 in about three hours! I want to give a big thank you to the people who helped and the people who bought things.

I’m only 10, but I can do a lot for my family, my friends, and even people who live in Haiti. I’m glad that I could do something for Haiti with my class. I never knew what rubble was before this earthquake happened.

Moriah Claus is in the fourth grade at Orcas Christian School.
