Performing at the Brown Bag concert in Emmanuel Episcopal Church at noon on Wednesday, July 17, will be three well-known island residents who enjoy making music together as the BODaLO Trio.
They will perform the trio for clarinet, cello and piano in E flat Major by French composer Louise Farrenc (1804-1875), who was a composer, virtuoso pianist teacher and professor at the famous Paris Conservatory.
The group includes Bob Littlewood on clarinet. He also plays in the Orcas Community Band, the Island Sinfonia, Orcatrazz Swing Band and various chamber groups. He has come, late in life, to appreciate a skill he did not work hard enough at as a youth. The second member of the group, Dale Heisinger, cello, is a retired physician from Bellingham. He has played the cello since age 9. He played with the Whatcom Symphony and now plays with the Island Sinfonia and various chamber ensembles. The third member, Louellen McCoy, plays piano and has lived on Orcas for more than 50 years. She has played for a variety of events including 25 years with the Orcas Choral Society and as an accompanist at the Brown Bag concerts and several years with the BODaLO Trio.
Donations are appreciated to fund the Virgil Cleveland Memorial Scholarship program to help local music students attend music camp.
