BoDaLo trio to perform at Brown Bag concert July 13

Performing at the Brown Bag Concert at noon in Emmanuel Church on Wednesday, July 13, will be three well-known island residents who make music together as the BoDaLo Trio.

Performing at the Brown Bag Concert at noon in Emmanuel Church on Wednesday, July 13, will be three well-known island residents who make music together as the BoDaLo Trio.

The group includes Bob Littlewood, clarinet, who also plays in the Orcas Community Band, the Island Sinfonia, the Orcatrazz Swing Band, and various chamber groups. The second member of the group, Dale Heisinger, cello, is a retired physician from Bellingham who played with the Whatcom Symphony. He also plays with the Island Sinfonia and local chamber groups. The third member, Louellen McCoy, piano, has lived on Orcas with her husband Miles for 48 years. She has played concerts, including many Brown Bag events, and  has also accompanied  a variety of groups on Orcas, including 25 years with the Orcas Choral Society.

The BoDaLo’s program will include:  Trio for Clarinet, Violoncello and Piano in Eb Major, Opus4, Adagio by Louise Farrenc, Trio IV for Piano, Clarinet and Violoncello in Bb Major, Opus 11, Adagio by Ludwig van Beethoven, Trio for Piano, Cello and Clarinet in A minor, Opus 114, Adagio by Johannes Brahms, and Eight Pieces for Clarinet, Violoncello and Piano, Opus 83, No. 5, Rumänische Melodie, Max Bruch.

The concert is free of charge, although donations are welcome for the Emmanuel Music Committee’s fund to provide a scholarship to music camp for a young Orcas musician each summer. Everyone is encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch to enjoy  on the lawn (weather permitting) or parish hall after the concert.
