Want to exhibit your art? Now’s your chance. The Art Committee at the Orcas Island Public Library is now seeking applications for the 2020 exhibit schedule. All types of art — painting; sculpture; photography; mixed-media — are acceptable.
Interested Orcas Island artists of any age should submit, either online to Committee Chair Dave Kosiur – dkosiur@gmail.com – or in-person to Library Director Phil Heikkinen, an application to include the following – name; address; email; phone; six digital or printed images of your work; a brief 200 word statement of interest; and an artist’s bio.
Please ensure that the application is submitted to either Kosiur or Heikkinen no later than Jan. 31. The Library Art Committee will review applications and communicate with artists to create the 2020 exhibit schedule by the end of February.
For the past two years, the Orcas Island Public Library has added support for the visual arts on Orcas Island by inviting island artists to exhibit in the newly expanded library. The library is pleased to have had 27 artists display their work in the past two years and will continue this program for 2020. Thank you to all the wonderful island artists who exhibited in 2018 and 2019.
