Camera club seeks images for new show

The Orcas Island Camera Club is presenting a photography show at Orcas Center in September. The show is open to all Orcas Island photographers. The theme is “People.” Submissions that match the theme are strongly preferred, however, it is not required.

The show is open to all Orcas Island photographers. The theme is “People.” Submissions that match the theme are strongly preferred, however, it is not required.

There will be an opening reception Friday, Sept. 2 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. All those submitting photos for display are asked to bring a potluck dish to share.

Submitted images must be ready to hang, which means having a frame and wire hanger. Photographers can submit multiple images. Pieces in the show may be offered for sale. Orcas Center takes a 30 percent commission on sales from Orcas Center members and a 40 percent commission from non-members. The commission helps support Orcas Center operations.

Submissions can be brought to Orcas Center on Weds., Aug. 31 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The show will be on display through Oct. 4. Images can be picked up on Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Email maggiesharkey@hotmail.com, call 376-625, or visit www.orcasislandcameraclub.org for more information.
