Children’s author Lois Harris will be sharing reading from her books at the Orcas school and at Darvill’s next week, thanks to PTSA member and children’s book writer Kathryn Thurman. The Darvill’s book signing on Sunday, June 13 from 2 to 4 p.m. is open to the public.

Harris has written two picture books, one on Impressionist painter Mary Cassatt and the other on Charlie Russell, 19th century cowboy artist.

“Lois was part of the local success stories at this year’s SCBWI (Society for Children’s Writers and Illustrators conference) and she’s a wonderful speaker. She is also very excited to be visiting our island’s school,” said Thurman.
