Orcas Center offers Theatre Camp for children from five years old through teenage. Theatre Camp will meet daily from Monday, June 23 through Saturday, July 5. The 2008 Theatre Camp theme is “Cirque d’Orcas” and will feature teaching artists from the thrilling Dream Science Circus. Exciting circus skills will be taught, as well as perseverance, team work, and self-confidence. “Instructors have a wild imagination and a passion for movement, theater and self expression,” said Orcas Rec Director Didier Gincig. All participants will be eligible to join a procession in the Historical Day Parade as well as a Center Stage performance on July 5. Cirque d’Orcas is offered to teens and children through a partnership between Orcas Center and Orcas Island Recreation Program. Tuition is $150, and registration is through Orcas Center (376-ACT1) or Orcas Island Recreation Program (376-5339).
If participation creates an economic hardship, contact Orcas Center (376-ACT1) or the Orcas Rec. Program (376-5339) to discuss scholarship opportunities.
