The Orcas Island Community Foundation invites all nonprofit organizations to submit grant proposals to the Holiday GiveOrcas campaign from now until Oct. 15. GiveOrcas builds awareness of local nonprofits, projects in need of support, and raise funds to bolster the programs that make Orcas a stronger and truly thriving community.
The success of the campaigns is achieved through a collaborative relationship between OICF, island nonprofits, and the community that unites to support the campaigns and the programs featured in it. GiveOrcas is a true community-wide effort. No donation is too small.
Executive Director of Orcas Island Historical Museums, Nancy Stillger, notes the importance of the bi-annual campaign.
“At the Orcas Island Historical Museums we look to inspire community, learn from our past, celebrate our present in order to guide our future,” she said. “The GiveOrcas campaign is all about inspiring the essence of the community! The GiveOrcas campaign allows us to do the work we do including documenting the wonderful work done by our fellow non-profits. Holiday time for the Museums is about gathering, reflecting, celebrating all we are as an island community past and future. We love how we can come together and support each other during GiveOrcas to better our community.”
The application is open to 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(6) organizations, government agencies, schools, and public service organizations.
Applications, qualification checklists, and campaign policies can be found on the OICF website at www.oicf.us. The deadline to complete the application and submit the required documents is by 5 p.m. on Oct. 15. The Holiday Campaign will run from December 3 – 12, 2024.
