Concerti from the Court of Frederick the Great, presented by the 2022 Salish Sea Early Music Festival, features special guest harpsichordist David Schrader from Chicago with flutist Jeffrey Cohan and baroque chamber orchestra in a program of orchestral works by composers associated with the Prussian king’s renowned musical court, including Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, Johann Sebastian Bach, Johann Joachim Quantz and the flutist king himself. The orchestra includes Elizabeth Phelps and Courtney Kuroda on baroque violins, Lindsey Strand-Polyak on baroque viola and Annabeth Shirley on baroque cello.
The concert takes place on Tuesday, April 26 at 6 p.m. (please note an earlier start time than previously announced) at the Orcas Adventist Fellowship Church in Eastsound at 107 Enchanted Forest Road. A suggested donation of $15, $20 or $25 (a free will offering) will be requested, and those 18 & under are free. Masks and vaccination are required.
