The week of Christmas, Orcas Islanders picked up their last-minute packages in a non-traditional way.

FedEx driver Sam Grow (above), unable to make his rounds on the icy roads, parked his van in the Island Market Parking Lot. Those expecting packages came right to the source to retrieve them. On Christmas Eve, he handed out more than 300 parcels.

FedEx plans to be distributing packages in the parking lot through this week, until the roads clear up.
