The American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 93 reaches out to the community (businesses and individuals) at this time each year to raise funds for its annual student scholarships.

There are four ongoing scholarships: the Sally Hart Memorial scholarship established in 1964, the Mid Flaherty Memorial scholarship established in 1981, the Lar Vern Key Memorial scholarship established in 1991, and the American Legion Auxiliary scholarship established in 2007.

In 2009, the Auxiliary was able to increase its main four scholarships to $1,000 each, and award two additional $500 scholarships. It was made possible by generous donations.

For everyone who donates money, an 8” x 10” acknowledgement poster will be on display at the Legion. Businesses are asked to enclose a business card with their donations.

Contributions of $25 can be mailed to the attention of Eloise Monson/Judi Resch, c/o American Legion Post #93, 793 Crescent Beach Rd., Eastsound WA 98245. Donations can also be dropped off at the American Legion any day after 4 p.m. Make checks payable to the American Legion Auxiliary.
