Influenza activity in San Juan County is on the rise.

“During the week of Feb. 26, both Orcas and Lopez schools had high absentee rates,” Joanne Campbell of the San Juan County Health Department said. “That is usually an indication that influenza is around.”

All three medical clinics on Orcas as well as the county health department (378-4474) have additional flu vaccines for both both children and adults.
