The Orcas Island Community Foundation invites the entire community to an ice cream social held in the picnic shelter at Cascade Lake in Moran State Park on Thursday, May 25 at 4 p.m.

The celebration is in honor of Give Orcas grant awards and a summer kick-off party. Award checks will be distributed during the event to the non-profit organizations that participated in the campaign.

In addition, the Orcas Island High School Senior Class will reveal which organization(s) they selected to receive their $10,000 through the Youth Philanthropy Program.

There will be music, popcorn, ice cream cones and beverages. First come, first serve. All are welcome. Families encouraged.

The event is also a nod to the newly reopened Moran State Park Picnic Shelter that has, for the last 6 months, been under remodeling construction for extensive facility improvements.
