Funhouse Commons and Orcas Island High School are teaming up for another year of college events for high school students. Join us Tuesday, Oct. 1 – Friday, Oct. 4 for College Week.

The Funhouse is bringing back David Aramaki, college financing expert, who will offer an evening event for parents and guardians of K-12 students at the school cafeteria at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1. In his talk, “Sending Your Child to College,” he will be discussing financial aid strategies, tax issues affecting savings plans, college funding options, and more. This is a great talk for parents with students of all ages! Treats and coffee will be served.

This year we welcome expert college counseling consultants, Craig and Layli Lewis for a presentation at Orcas Island High School. This presentation will focus on college admission, high school curricular choices, standardized test performance, college choices, the college application process, and specifics every potential college student should know. Don’t miss their presentation for both parents and guardians and students, “College Admissions 101” on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 6:30 p.m. at the school library.

Aramaki, Craig Lewis, and Layli Lewis will also be offering one-on-one advisory sessions with families that are specific to each student’s needs. These sessions fill up fast.

There is no charge for these sessions, but the Funhouse welcomes donations to help cover the costs of inviting these top experts to our community.
