The Friends of the Orcas Island Library invite you to discover fantastic book bargains at its 68th annual Library Book Fair! This exciting event will take place on Saturday, Aug. 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the library’s parking lot, located at 500 Rose St., Eastsound.
This longstanding tradition promises to be another fun-filled day for the entire community. Attendees can enjoy live music throughout the day performed by talented local musicians. Additionally, story-time with children’s librarian Jenny DeGroot is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., making it a delightful experience for young readers.
Adding to the excitement, the event will feature the 2nd annual rubber ducky race, supporting the Ken Gibbs Memorial Endowment. This important fund aids in the purchase of science-related materials for the library, ensuring that valuable educational resources remain available to all.
The Library Book Fair offers a diverse selection of books that cater to all interests, including fiction, history, geography, mystery, art, cookbooks, DVDs, and a wide array of books for children and teens. Whether you’re an avid reader or just looking for some great deals, this event has something for everyone.
The Friends of the Orcas Island Library is a volunteer-run nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to supporting the library. All proceeds from the Book Sale will be used to enhance the library’s materials and programming, ensuring that our community continues to benefit from valuable resources and enriching activities.
