At the end of August, another OPAL recycled house will be moved from its current location near the Orcas Island Golf Course via Orcas Road to its permanent home in the Lydia Lane neighborhood of Rosario.
The house move may cause temporary traffic slowdowns. If there are cars waiting to pass on the route, the Nickel Bros. crew, who are handling the move, will stop in places where it is possible to let people go around.
As the end of the month approaches, OPAL and Nickel Bros. will have more detailed information about the date and timing of the house move and how it will impact traffic.
OPAL is delighted to receive another generously donated house that will become permanently affordable housing for an island household.
Incorporated in 1989, OPAL Community Land Trust provides permanently affordable housing for 139 rental and ownership households on Orcas Island.
