The Indian Island Marine Health Observatory celebrates its second year of research and presents its first annual “Report to the Community” on Thursday, Oct. 28.
Everyone is invited to this free event beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Madrona Room of Orcas Center.
The community is invited to view a slide show of the fish, nudibranchia and other marine creatures of Indian Island; listen to the rundown of this years’ research results; get a sneak peek of the new Field Guide to the Marine Life of Indian Island, a unique publication site-specific to Eastsound’s inter-tidal zone; meet volunteers and other collaborators who are working to make the commitment to the health of Indian Island a reality.
In addition, there will be a marine-themed costume contest for kids, music by Sharon Abreu, and a light supper catered by the Orcas Village Store.
