At the Orcas Island Food Bank, we believe in the power of food and music to unite diverse cultures. That’s why we’re excited to invite you to fund a celebration of the rich diversity of our community’s upcoming summer fiesta in September. You can make this happen through the Give Orcas Campaign that runs May 8–17 at giveorcas.org.

Picture a vibrant gathering filled with the lively sounds of Mariachi Alma Nueva and the irresistible aroma of Delmy’s delicious tacos. That’s an unforgettable Orcas experience!

But this fiesta isn’t just about having a good time — it’s an opportunity to make a real difference. During the event, we’re partnering with Alimentando al Pueblo, a community-building organization from Burien, to gather feedback from our community.

We want to know how we can improve our services now and as we transition to our new location on the Pea Patch Campus. This feedback will help us determine what services and products are most valued by our community and explore ideas for our new location. By listening to our community, especially our Hispanic neighbors, we can make a profound impact and create more inclusive and impactful services. Your input during this event will be invaluable as we gather feedback from our friends and neighbors. We genuinely value all thoughts and ideas in shaping our future.

Events that revolve around food and music have the incredible ability to bring people together. Food is a universal language that connects us all, while music has the power to transcend language barriers and foster a sense of unity. This celebration is an opportunity to foster connections, promote inclusion, and empower our community to thrive together.

Cultural celebrations and strengthening bonds are vital to creating a more unified and supportive environment for all. Through events like our summer fiesta, we can showcase the beauty of our community and learn from one another.
