The San Juan County Land Bank is hosting a Guided Interpretive Walk at the Judd Cove Preserve with Land Bank Steward Ruthie Dougherty, local historian Boyd Pratt, and restoration mason Steve Cohan, owner of Hot Rock Masonry. The walk will explore the preserve’s natural and cultural history, including the lime quarry and kiln located on the property.
The walk is from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 1; meet in the Judd Cove parking area.
Directions: From the Orcas Ferry Terminal, take Orcas Road north 7 miles to Fowler’s Way. Turn right on Fowler’s Way and follow gravel road 400’ to parking area trailhead. From Eastsound, take Orcas Road south 1.1 miles to Fowler’s Way. Turn left on Fowler’s Way and follow the gravel road.
