Darvill’s Book Store will host a talk and book signing by author Cliff Mass, author of Weather of the Pacific Northwest, on Thursday, Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. at the Senior Center.

Weather of the Pacific Northwest has been called a comprehensive guide that unravels the intricacies of our weather, from the mundane to the mystifying, by examining legendary floods, snowstorms, windstorms, and other weather events.

Mass is a radio commentator, atmospheric scientist, and a local source of weather information.

The event is sponsored by the Department of Emergency Management and the San Juan Nature Institute.
