Joni Mitchell’s “Blue” album earned second-place on Rolling Stone’s “Women Who Rock: The 50 Greatest Albums of All Time” in 2015. Mitchell’s fourth album was described by the popular music magazine as, “An acoustic tour de force with a swinging cast of beautiful losers, cafe romantics, sugar daddies, drunkards, liars and Rolling Stone-reading jet-setters in Spain.”

Multi-faceted performer Merideth Kaye Clark will bring to life Mitchell’s entire 1971 album at Orcas Center on Sunday, July 9 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available from orcascenter.org and at the Orcas Center box office for $20. Orcas Center members get $2 off the ticket price.

“This album has influenced me a lot as a singer and a songwriter,” said Clark. “I’ve always had a strong relationship to this music. Every time I return to it I hear something new and find something new in her poetry. I hope people will find their own new connections hearing the entire body of work live.”

A native of Kansas City, Missouri, Clark is an actress, singer-songwriter and artist who now lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband, daughter and “floppy dog.” She earned her master’s in musical theater from San Diego State University in California. Since then, she has been a touring musician and actor in theaters across the nation.

Clark performed in the First National Tour of the Broadway musical “Wicked” as Elphaba, appearing in more than 150 performances in 35 U.S. cities.

“I have played thousands of shows around the country and this will be my very first time to the islands,” said Clark. “I am very excited to finally be headed your way!”
