More Langford on Music at the Library

They came, they listened, they laughed and learned. Now, it’s your turn.

Bruce Langford, Artistic Director of Orcas Choral Society, continues his music appreciation series with a final lecture on Wednesday, May 15 at the Orcas Island Public Library. Everyone is welcome.

It will dive into the elements of music: tempo, pitch, rhythm, melody, harmony and more.

“To say music is the international language is no hyperbole. It’s spoken all over the world,” Langford said. “Come learn how that happened and about the building blocks of music.”

Langford has performed with and conducted vocal and instrumental ensembles throughout the United States, Europe and Australia and held principal roles in more than 50 theatrical productions. He served more than 25 years as Professor of Music History and Voice at Citrus College in Glendora, Calif.

He next directs Orcas Choral Society in its spring concert, Songs of Shadow and Light, at Orcas Center, on May 18 and 19.
