Don’t miss Olga Daze! Festivities begin in front of the Community Center at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 20. Festivities go until 2 p.m.
Come for breakfast at the bake sale, featuring the world famous maple bars made on the spot. Stay for lunch then come back to the bake sale for dessert. The parade starts at 12 and features an OIFR fire truck. Everyone is invited to join in and silly hats and other zany attire are encouraged! Live music will be performed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children’s games and face painting will take place throughout the day.
An Olga Daze tradition is the raffle of a beautiful handmade quilt. Raffle tickets are available now most weekends outside of Island Market and on July 20 until 1:30 p.m. The drawing will be about 1:45 p.m. and the winner does not need to be present. Expect a fantastic Barn/Yard Sale with lots of great stuff at bargain prices. If you would like to donate goods for the sale, drop-off days are July 11 and 12 from 3-6 p.m. at Olga Park near the red and white shed.
This year’s Olga Daze will include an “Olga Grown” table featuring plants, flowers, fruits and vegetables. If you are able to donate items from your garden, text or call Karen Miksch, 612-805-4615.
Come enjoy Olga Daze then spend the rest of the day exploring. There’s lots going on in Olga this summer — the newly reopened and beautifully restored Olga Store, the Olga Artworks and Lascaux Cafe, Olga Pottery, Buck Bay Shellfish, hiking at the Coho preserve or just strolling around. All proceeds from Olga Daze support the Olga Community Club and its historic building.
