Orcas Choral Society kicks off its fall season Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 5:30 p.m. at the Orcas Center with a potluck picnic and introduction to the music for its 2017 holiday concert.
“We hope everyone who might be interested in singing in our community chorus will come and join us,” said Artistic Director Marianne Lewis. “It’s a great way to meet members and get a feel for the music we’ll learn this fall. If you like singing, try us out!”
So far, 61 islanders have joined the choir’s fall roster. The 2017-2018 season includes the holiday concert Dec. 9 and 10 and a special spring concert in May 2018 to celebrate the choir’s 40th anniversary.
“This should be a great year for the Choral Society,” said Lewis. “We have an exciting program lined up for December, with plenty of fanfare for the season. And next spring should be full of surprises.”
