Eleven talented kids showed themselves braver than most adults in the audience by sharing their joie de vivre onstage at Orcas Has Talent Junior on Saturday afternoon.
The Orcas Center Board invites community members to a reception honoring outgoing Executive/Artistic Director Barbara Courtney on Friday, Jan 28 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Madrona Room just prior to the Mariachi Huenachi performance, which is at 7:30 p.m. Desserts, cheeses and beverages will be served.
Four major lectures are scheduled, with a variety of speakers about timely issues, both local and global. All lectures are followed by a question and answer period and a public reception with the speaker. All lectures are at Orcas Center.
Orcas Has Talent, a fresh new incarnation of the wildly popular annual Orcas Idol show, will be running its audition show on Jan. 22.
