Starting March 1, some of Jan McCorison’s quilts will be exhibited at the Orcas Island Library. Jan’s quilts use a number of techniques — appliqué, traditional piecing, and foundation piecing for example. She takes her inspiration for her work from a variety of sources, including Asian fabrics, Tlingit carvings, and Mexican art.
“I was in my element during the pandemic when all I could do was design and make lap throws and baby blankets using fabric I had on hand. I see another 100 quilts in my future!” said McCorison.
Come to the library and see a sampling of what she’s done so far.
