YOU’RE INVITED! Join us for our family-friendly community celebration and activation event, Rally for a Remedy. Sound Defense Alliance and Citizens of Ebey’s Reserve plan to celebrate good news, including the recent step towards victory with Judge Jones’ ruling on the Navy’s failure to consider the damaging impacts of the Growler jet program.
The event will include live music, postcard writing, face painting, pumpkin painting, a selfie station, and snacks. After the program with the latest news and Q&A, we’ll conclude with a participatory activity and photo op.
In 2019, COER, the WA State AG’s office, and Paula Spina filed suits regarding Growler expansion and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) violations. In response to Judge Jones’ ruling, A.G. Bob Ferguson stated, “The Navy has an important job…that doesn’t relieve the federal government of its obligation to follow the law and take a hard look at the public health and environmental impacts of its programs. The judge ruled that the Navy fell short of its obligation.”
Join us on October 15th to celebrate and find out what’s ahead as we work to restore balance between the military’s mission and the health and well-being of our communities.
