Lopez fiber artist Ruth Van Doren received two best in class awards in fiber arts at the San Juan County Fair. Her awards were for her Madrona Bark tapestry (Class = Hand Weaving — Hand Spun Yarn) and her hand-stitched, hand-woven book with handmade paper (Class = Miscellaneous Fiber Techniques).
