Sharon Abreu invites you to come sing-along with her at the “Brown Bag” concert at noon on Wednesday, July 13. The concert is held at the Emmanuel Episcopal Parish in Eastsound. This popular summer concert series features island musicians who give their time and talent to fund the Virgil Cleveland Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship provides the opportunity for promising music students from Orcas to attend music camp.
Abreu was singing harmony by the age of three. In New York she sang in audience-attended master classes with the Metropolitan Opera soprano Licia Albanese. On Orcas, she starred in a musical comedy and was soloist for Mozart’s Requiem and Bach’s Magnificat with the Orcas Choral Society.
Bring your friends and a brown bag lunch and come sing with Abreu and the audience. The concert is free but donations are appreciated. Plan to arrive early, seating is limited and the doors close promptly at noon.
