The Orcas Choral Society begins rehearsals for Mozart’s “Requiem” on Tuesday, Jan. 8 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Madrona Room at Orcas Center. The Choral Society’s performance will be with orchestra at Orcas Center on Sunday, April 21 at 2 p.m. The following Sunday afternoon, the choir has been invited to perform the same program at Saint Mark’s Cathedral in Seattle.

Mozart’s “Requiem” is arguably the most beloved and famous of all choral masterworks. It is also a work with an intriguing past.
