John Geyman, M.D., announces the publication of “Struggling and Dying Under Trumpcare: How We Can Fix This Fiasco.”
Geyman has been writing about U.S. health care policy and reform since 2002. This book describes the health care situation in our country and the current proposals in Congress. He offers evidence-based information which supports Medicare For All as the only sustainable way to have health care coverage for everyone in our country.
“This book is the best guide for people who want to understand the health care mess, and what needs to be done to fix it. Geyman has few peers as a doctor, writer and policy scholar,” according to David Himmelstein, M.D. and Steffie Woolhandler, M.D., general internists, health policy experts and distinguished professors of public health at the City University of New York.
Geyman has also published “Common Sense: The Case For and Against Medicare For All – Leading Issue in the 2020 Elections.” This 33-page pamphlet reviews current U. S. health care based on Thomas Paine’s principles in 1776: “simple facts, plain arguments, and common sense.”
Geyman is professor emeritus of family medicine at the University of Washington, served as chair of the department from 1976-1990 and has been the editor of national family medicine journals. After moving to San Juan Island he was a physician at the Inter-Island Clinic in Friday Harbor for seven years.
His publications are available at Griffin Bay Bookstore in Friday Harbor, Darvill’s Book Store on Orcas Island and Lopez Island Bookshop.
