Salmonberry School is once again offering a slate of 5-day summer day camps for island kids and visitors beginning June 24 and continuing through the summer. Register at: www.salmonberryschool.org.
“It has always been a critical part of our mission to extend our holistic approach to education beyond the students enrolled in our elementary school,” says Salmonberry’s Founding Head of School Paul Freedman. “Since 2001 we have reached many hundreds of families through a wide range of offerings including our summer camps and seasonal community festivals & events that extend the school’s presence beyond the traditional academic calendar and curriculum.”
Salmonberry’s recent Spring Festival was another joyful gathering that is the latest iteration of an Orcas Island tradition dating back to the 1980s.
Salmonberry parent and member of the school’s Community Building Committee Laurie Racicot reflects, “Salmonberry’s seasonal festivals allow us to open our gates wide and welcome all island families for free events that focus on joyful connection.”
Salmonberry is happy to be hosting a Friday play group on June 7, 14 and 21 for all children ages 1 to 7 years old. Interested parents should contact Tabitha Rose or Ashley Meyer at tabitharoseyoga@gmail.com.
Tabitha says, “We are delighted to offer this sweet nature-based adventure in creative expression, movement and song.”
