Join the Orcas Island Library on Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 1 p.m. in welcoming Kate Gavigan, founder and principal instructor of the Seattle Artist’s Way Center, who will give a talk on the international bestseller by Julia Cameron, “The Artist’s Way.”
Gavigan’s interactive talk on creativity will highlight the primary tools of creative recovery that Cameron outlines in her book on creativity. She will facilitate discussion on the gifts that can come from “The Artist’s Way” book, and share how the material has helped her and her students more fully and genuinely know themselves, discover and rediscover their gifts and talents and have more fun and joy in their lives.
“In order to retrieve your creativity, you need to find it,” Cameron wrote.
The material in Cameron’s book and the tools described in the talk can help attendees start to do just that.
Gavigan is passionate about “The Artist’s Way” having seen the positive changes occurring in her students’ lives and having personally experienced the benefits of the materials. She credits her mid-life career change (now working at her dream job as an instructor and speaker, creativity coach, home organizer and an Actor) to having worked through “The Artist’s Way” materials.
There is no fee for this class and class size is limited to 20 students, 18 years of age and over. To sign up, visit the library or phone 376-4985.
