Thurmond Russell is pleased to invite the community to his first solo piano and voice recital on Saturday, July 27, at 5:30 p.m. in the Madrona Room at the Orcas Center.

The program will feature Robert Schumann’s Kinderszenen, Johannes Brahms’ opus 10 Ballades, select Schubert lieder, along with an original composition. Born and raised on Orcas Island, Thurmond began his piano studies in 2020 and vocal training this year.

He hopes to bring a unique voice to the standard piano repertoire and creativity to the realm of composition.

No tickets are required. Donations are appreciated, though, and will go toward Thurmond’s continuing musical studies.
