Two of Spokane’s University High School’s performance ensembles, Delos Concert Choir and the Lirico Chamber Singers, will present a concert on Friday, May 1 at 7 p.m. at the Orcas School Old Gym.
The choirs, directed by Russell Seaton, encompass music from all over the world and many genres, including multi-cultural, gospel, spiritual, classical, and sacred.
Delos has over 90 singers in the choir, and Lirico keeps with the traditional chamber choir size of 20 students. Both perform music of the collegiate level and Seaton’s original compositions.
The 60-minute program, hosted by the Orcas School Music Program and music teacher Lizz Hanks, is free and open to the public.
Music Booster parents and community members will serve dinner for the more than 100 choir members in the school cafeteria before the concert.
Music Booster coordinator Marian O’Brien says they would appreciate volunteers to help with dinner preparations and serving. Those who would like to help can contact her at 376-1402, or marian@bokubooks.com.
