The Coats, a male quartet delivering their own unique a cappella sounds and songs, will perform two shows at Orcas Center – on Sunday, July 25 as well as for the Under the Orcas Sun summer gala on Saturday, July 24. The Coats give a highly entertaining show that includes songs that are nostalgic for audiences of many generations.
The Coats vocal band started on the street corners of Seattle’s famous Pike Place Market. Singing for tourists, locals, fish vendors, and fellow buskers, their humble ambitions of earning a few clams to fight off the tuition bills quickly evolved into a full-time international performance career. They’ve since won national vocal competitions, sang for the President of the United States, and have been fortunate enough to share the stage with such talented fellow entertainers as Ronnie Milsap, Trisha Yearwood, Montgomery Gentry, The Beach Boys, Tanya Tucker, Billy Dean, Crystal Gayle, and Colin Ray, just to name a few, all while continuing their tradition of outreach performances and workshops supporting music in schools throughout the northwest.
Tickets for the general Sunday performance of The Coats are $25, $17 for Orcas Center members and $11 for students.
Orcas Center’s summer gala Under the Orcas Sun on Saturday, July 24 will feature food, bidding for unique dining and travel experiences, and entertainment with The Coats. All net proceeds benefit Orcas Center’s programming, including the Orcas Arts Education Project. Tickets for the gala are $150 per person.
