WaFd Bank in Eastsound is pleased to announce that the featured artists for July and August this year is Orcas Island writer and painter Debra Lee Babcock of Art and Word Studio.

Babcock received an FA in painting from the San Francisco Art Institute, is a certified Intentional Creativity teacher and is this year’s Washington State Inter-Island Ferry Writer in Residence. This show of her latest work demonstrates some of the ways she weaves words into her visual work as well, layering intentions, prayers, and personal iconography beneath and throughout the imagery, sometimes visible, sometimes not.
