A seminar on the constitution will be presented on San Juan Island on Saturday, Sept. 17 by the National Center for Constitutional Studies.
“Learn how nearly every problem in America today can be solved by adhering to the concepts and principles in the Constitution,” organizers say. “[In the morning], explore the history of the religious, political and economic principles that led Jefferson, Adams, and Monroe to rediscover the key to the creation of the first free nation in modern times. [The afternoon will provide] a refreshing look at the solid principles from the preamble through the amendments to the Constitution.”
Titled “The Making of America: A Constitutional Seminar,” the class will be hosted at the San Juan Grange at 152 First Street, Friday Harbor, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Lunch is provided.
Reservations are required, and the seminar is limited to 80 participants. The cost is $20 for adults and $5 for students; scholarships are available.
The seminar is sponsored by The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 163.
