The burn level in San Juan County has been changed from extreme to moderate, San Juan County Fire Marshal Robert Low said in a release today.

“Depending on the weather, we hope to start issuing burn permits on October 1,” he said.

The fee for a 10-foot pile will be $15 and commercial permits will be $225.
