Day of Caring brought by United Way

DOC kicks off United Way’s fall fund-raising campaign; last year, more than 40 volunteers cleaned up the Parcours athletic trail at the school/Buck Park and installed new signage. This year, the work consists of two projects: building a safe pathway from the school to Orcas Center and yard work with low-income seniors. A few good volunteers still are needed for this “repair affair” next Wednesday, Sept. 24, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Those who are able to join members of Lions, Kiwanis, Odd Fellows, Orcas Garden Club and Orcas Pathways in this enterprise, are asked to contact Jan Koltun-Titus, 376-3394. “Or just show up (garden tools in hand if you have them) at Orcas Center,” says Jan.
