Lindsey Jo Gardner, a dance teacher, choreographer and performer from Austin, Texas, will be on Orcas Island in December to teach middle school students through the Orcas Arts Education Project.
Gardner will also teach children and adults through Orcas Conservatory, focusing on lyrical and jazz dance. Lyrical dance is a modern dance form which fuses modern dance, jazz, and ballet.
Four children’s classes will be offered on Mondays and Tuesdays, Nov. 30, Dec. 1, 7 and 8 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.. The tuition is $60.
Four classes for adults and teens ages 15+ will be offered on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 3 and 4, and then on Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 9 and 10 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The tuition is $60.
Dancers at all levels, including beginners, are welcome and encouraged to participate in these classes.
Gardner has taught and choreographed for many dance competitions, concerts and schools. A long-time friend of Orcas Island dance teacher Susan Babcock, Gardner danced with and taught at Babcock’s Austin dance studio.
