Road work will begin on Orcas Hill Road as part of the new park and ride at the ferry landing soon and require a detour route. Utility relocation is active on Orcas Hill Road. Road construction actives are scheduled to begin on Orcas Hill Road within a week and will require a detour route. Crews have been setting subgrade, installing drainage structures, and trenching for the illumination system.

The detour will affect access to Orcas Hill Road north of the Washington State Ferry toll booth, transferring all traffic onto the new road that is under construction. All through traffic from Orcas Hill Road will be eliminated across the WSF operations. Access to Orcas Hill Road will be located at the new Y intersection of Orcas Road and the WSF access road.
