More than 70 people filled the hall at Odd Fellow’s on Saturday, as community members gathered in support of Bernie Sanders.
“Dine with the 99” was a potluck style fund-raiser for the presidential candidate with dinners held throughout the country on April 14, 15 and 16.
According to the website dedicated to the event, the idea started as four women in different locations who had never met each other, devising a plan to hold separate potluck fundraisers for Sanders. The movement spread and almost every state had at least one organized potluck. According to the Dine with the 99 Twitter account, 350 potlucks were held over the weekend.
The Orcas event was organized by Learner Limbach. Limbach heard of the movement on Facebook and registered to host the Orcas potluck.
