The Eastsound Off Leash Dog Park boards of directors have scheduled user meetings and orientations on the first Sunday of every month at the park.

The first meeting, Sunday, May 3 at 2 p.m. will cover how to use the park safely, basic park rules and tips and strategies for having a successful dog park experience.

Dog trainer Annie Allan will provide some tips for “starting off on the right paw” for new dog owners following the meeting.

Current and new users are encouraged to attend the orientation. More information is available by e-mailing friends@orcasdogpark.org

The Eastsound Off-Leash Area has been open since August 2008 at the corner of Mt. Baker and North Beach Roads. The park is a fenced acre complete with a dog toy box, water bowls, a special dog entry gate, and a new shelter. Users are responsible for helping to maintain the park.
