EDC partners in survey to assess childcare impacts on employers

Submitted by the SJC Economic Development Council.

The EDC, a nonprofit organization, is partnering with the NWESD, regional agencies, and the Department of Commerce to conduct a survey to assess childcare impacts on employers in San Juan County.

Local and regional early learning partners, led by the Northwest Early Learning Coalition, are working collaboratively with regional STEM Networks and Economic Development Organizations to collect data from businesses in the Northwest region on the current child care needs of their employees, the child care benefits that employers offer, and any barriers employers face in providing child care benefits. The data collected will inform their regional strategic planning through 2027.

Business owners and managers, and workers are urged to respond to the survey as soon as possible here: https://forms.gle/zLBRr8yYjByRSoJC7

The EDC thanks San Juan County, the Town of Friday Harbor, the Port of Friday Harbor, and the Washington State Department of Commerce for their support of this survey.

The San Juan County Economic Development Council strives to support small rural enterprises, conduct projects to stimulate new job creation, strengthen the economic base for working families, and support overall quality of life for islanders.
