Orcas Island Community Church is offering a seven-week course designed to provide essential knowledge every seeker ought to consider and every Christian ought to possess. The textbook, “A Handbook of the Christian Faith” by John Schwarz is available online or may be ordered through the church office (376-6422).

Dick Staub, writer, broadcaster and one of the pastors at the church, will teach the class. Staub received degrees from Simpson University (B.A.) and Gordon-Conwell Seminary (M. Div) with additional graduate coursework at Harvard Divinity School and University of Washington.

Class started Sept. 10; the following sessions are left: Sept. 24, The Jewish Scriptures; Oct. 8, Jesus of Nazareth; Oct. 22, The Gospels; Oct. 29, The Church; Nov. 12, Christian Beliefs; Dec. 10, Other Religions. Classes are held at the church from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
